THE SALTON SEA

One of the plans to stabilize, or lower the salinity of the Salton Sea, is to create evaporation ponds at one end of the sea. Water would be allowed to enter the shallow, large surface area pond to evaporate. The salt that remained after the water was evaporated would be hauled away.
