The hills surrounding La Costa Canyon High School provide a real world laboratory in which the students can learn about ecological succession following fire and the realities of living in a rapidly developing area with high potential for wildfires. The goal of this year's project is to set up a test site and develop baseline data for continuing research. Sampling and testing procedures will be developed to provide a protocol for future research which will improve both the accuracy and precision of data collected. We usually go out almost every weekend this page will give information on what we do in the field and what we find. This weekThis entry will be updated when school resumes.
